Kicker text hovorí: “You may pay an additional [cost] as you cast this spell.”

Show and tell hovorí: Put that permanent into play.

Inými slovami, aby si mohol zaplatiť kicker cost, musíš spell najprv "castovať". V prípade Show and tell len položíš permanent do hry a nič necastuješ, takže nemôžeš kicker cost zaplatiť.

V prípade, že by ale spell hovoril "(You may) cast this spell without paying it's mana cost." tak by si kicker zaplatiť mohol.
